Prior, recent inpatient experience (PCU) is REQUIRED

Unit Info: Our ED Transitional Care Unit (TCU) is an ED owned 16 bed admission unit where med/surg or PCU level patients are held awaiting their inpatient bed assignment. In this unit, inpatient orders will be carried out and admission data bases are completed in preparation for their inpatient transfer. The nurse to patient ratio is normally 1:5 contingent on hospital capacity as well as ED volume.
